There is a list of Educational Opportunities on the council’s website that indicates seminars and CE courses being offered by various PA associations and others. If your association will be offering opportunities in the coming months, be sure to provide the details to Barbara so that she can be sure to get it on the website. Even if you only know the class you’ll be offering – or the date but don’t know the class – get a blurb on the website so that people will be sure to keep coming back to the website for more updates.

The list off available courses in the Lending Library are listed on the website after the Educational Opportunities...the I Can Series, the 30 Minutes programs..........we don’t have every single course, but we’ll put in a request to obtain the course if someone needs it. Any courses we purchase from National for an association’s use will also be available to other associations. And if any association would like to donate any courses they may have when they are done with it, we will gladly accept all donations.

The website also has the name and contact info for Denise Toth, who is a certified instructor in insurance courses. Barb will be sending out a note to the local presidents to find out if anyone knows of others out there who would be interested in making their information available to the membership. She will gather the information so that we can get it posted on the website.

12 scholarships were awarded at last Council Day for the 2009-2010 term. Of the 12, only 4 of the winners have provided evidence of payment and completion of a course to receive their award in full; 3 winners have provided evidence to collect partial payment; and 5 full scholarships still remain unclaimed.

As the clock is ticking and time is running out for winners to collect their awards, Barbara will contact each winner with a reminder that their money is still sitting on the table.

On the website we will have a list of all scholarship winners’ names/congratulations

For those who have never held an educational class or those looking for helpful hints for their next class, there will be a “How to Host an Educational Course” posted on the website.

1) Need discussion regarding how to obtain funds to purchase future educational programs for the Council’s Lending Library (the I Can Series will be updated soon by National)

2) Discuss what to do with the funds we still have left over from (old) unpaid scholarships.

Please be sure to invite your association’s education chair to join us on the call
